Discharge your EV

The Vehicle-to-Load device by Setec Power allows you to take energy out of your Nissan LEAF or Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and use as a 3000 watt generator.

Portable power from your EV

This is a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) device, meaning you can discharge your electric vehicle (EV) to provide clean, quiet energy, turning your EV into a generator. This technology is often called Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) or Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G). However, this device is portable and can be used anywhere.

Use it at home in an emergency instead of a gasoline generator. Or take it to the park, festivals, or anywhere you need power.

3kW output!

This equipment can discharge up to 1500watts per outlet for a total of 3000 watts continuous power available. That is typically plenty of power for critical systems in a home: fridge, lights, tv, cellphones, computers.

Compact and Lightweight

The system weighs 33lbs and can easily be carried using the handle.
The simple design just requires an on/off switch and a start button. The system automatically communicates via CHAdeMO to the vehicle.

Comes with CHAdeMO cable

The CHAdeMO cable plugs into the DC port of the vehicle and compatible with:
Nissan LEAF (in the US model year 2013 or newer)Mitsubishi Outlander PHEVMitsubishi i-miev
The device pulls DC energy from the vehicle using the V2H protocol, and converts the electricity to AC so it can be used with household appliances.

Technical Specifications

Technical specifications for the Setec Power V2H unit.

Electric Vehicles create a new opportunity to enable our vehicles to interact with the electric grid, often referred to as "Vehicle Grid Integration." This encompasses many terms you may see such as:
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)
Vehicle-to-Home (V2H)
Vehicle-to-Building (V2B)
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G)

Vehicle-to-Load is the simplest way to use your vehicle as a power source and does not require any approvals from your utility, or electrician work to install equipment at the home. Portability makes V2L unique and enables power anywhere. Just throw the equipment in the truck, and you'll have power for festivals, events, parties, etc. Without easy access to power in many parking lots, parks, or campsites, this gives high output power where you need it.

More importantly, use this in an emergency to power critical devices in your home. A Nissan LEAF battery could cleanly, and quietly power critical devices in the home for days.

Fridge: 1.2kWh/day
TV: 1.9kWh/day (1.3amps x 120V = 156W x 12 hours).

An older Nissan LEAF with a 24kWh battery could easily run these devices for 5 or 6 days.

Using an electric vehicle as an energy storage system can be a great method for emergency back-up power!
